Ingredients:
Channa dal - 3 cups
Onion - 2 large
Green chilies - 6
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic - 3 flakes
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon - 1 small stick
Fennel seeds( somp) -1 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil - for deep frying
Preparation:
Channa dal - 3 cups

Preparation:
Soak the channa dal for two hours and drain it. Mince finely the onion, green chilies, coriander leaves and curry leaves. Crush Ginger, garlic, cinnamon, fennel seeds and cloves together. Grind the channa dal with salt into coarse grains. Mix everything nicely to make a dough. Make the dough into flat rounds. Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the dough rounds in oil to golden brown on both side. Drain the oil and serve hot with tomato ketch up or chutney.
